NRF Student Program, Study Tours, The Retail Big Show, and More!

From January 10-14th, ten students from the NRFSA student club here on campus embarked on an enlightening journey by participating in the National Retail Federation (NRF) Student Association Student Program held in New York City. As part of this immersive experience, the students had the unique opportunity to tour the facilities of two esteemed partners of the Terry J. Lundgren Center for Retailing: SAP and Winston Retail. This hands-on exploration allowed them to witness firsthand the cutting-edge technologies and innovative strategies that drive success in the dynamic world of retail.

The visit to SAP, a global leader in enterprise software, provided valuable insights into the role of technology in reshaping the retail landscape. Students gained a deeper understanding of how data analytics, artificial intelligence, and other technological advancements are revolutionizing customer experiences and operational efficiency. Additionally, the tour of Winston Retail's facilities shed light on the critical aspects of visual merchandising and brand presentation. The students engaged with industry professionals, learning about the nuances of curating compelling in-store displays and creating memorable retail environments.

Beyond the informative tours, the students actively participated in networking sessions, forging connections with industry leaders, professionals, and fellow students. The NRF Student Program, a highlight of the program, offered a comprehensive platform for the students to further their knowledge of the retail industry. From insightful keynote sessions to networking with company recruiters, the event provided a holistic view of the industry, inspiring the students to envision their roles in the future of retail. The NRF Retail Big Show offered students the opportunity to explore the latest trends, innovations, and strategies shaping the retail sector, as well as meet with another esteemed center advisory board member: Planalytics.

Overall, this educational and fun-filled experience not only broadened their perspectives but also equipped them with practical knowledge and valuable connections as they embark on their careers in the dynamic world of retail!
