Lauren Schmidt
My name is Lauren Schmidt and I am a junior from Gilbert, AZ. I am really excited for my first semester to work with our CAB partners as well as my motivated peers. The Retailing and Consumer Sciences major has provided me with so many opportunities that I can not wait to take advantage of. After graduation I want to pursue a career in merchandise planning.
As a RCSC major I participated in two case studies which enhanced my professional development. Both the Altria Case Study and the Aspire2Retail NRF Challenge case competitions challenged me to transfer my classroom lessons into real-world application. I am an active member Students in Free Enterprise(SIFE) and currently hold the position of Career Expo Co-Chair, a student-run career fair for all majors and the largest fundraising event that enables our SIFE team to attend competitions. I look forward further developing my leadership skills in a competitive industry that is currently being shaped by technology and the demand for innovation.
