Michelle Jones
My name is Michelle Jones and I am thrilled to serve my fifth semester as a Student Advisory Board Ambassador for the Terry J. Lundgren Center for Retailing. I am currently a senior in the Retailing and Consumer Sciences program and have loved being part of such a unique, well rounded, and prestigious program.
This past summer I had the privilege to intern with JCPenney in their Sales Management division. I learned the importance of benchmarking sales, forecasting trends, and the power of visual marketing. This challenging and multi dimensional internship provided the opportunity to learn the business of retail first hand and the significance of innovative brand positioning.
Serving as Chair last semester I had the opportunity to lead the board and accomplish new fundraising, outreach and corporate partner initiatives. I learned how to manage a team, mentor new board members, and deliver results.
Combined these experiences have given me the confidence and knowledge to launch my career in the retailing industry. After graduation I am excited to begin my career with Gap Inc. though their Retail Management Program in San Francisco.
