Jordan Gardner
I’m a senior in the Retailing and Consumer Sciences major, minoring in General Business Administration. This is my second semester serving on the Student Advisory Board and I continue to look forward to learning and growing as a young professional. I serve as the liaison to Corporate Advisory Board partner Verizon Wireless and my goal is to connect our RCSC students with the opportunities our partner companies provide. I enjoy the Retail and Consumer Science program because it challenges students to use both the analytical and creative parts of their brains.
I am from Tempe, Arizona and I transferred to The University of Arizona after completing my AGEC-A at Mesa Community College. I discovered the Retail and Consumer Sciences program while browsing majors at the University of Arizona and I was instantly sold. My experience in retail has been almost exclusively in shoe sales but I have also worked in specialty retail. I am an avid enjoyer of music and when I have free time, I like to write and record my own. This year I was the recipient of the YMA Fashion Scholarship. Outside of class, I am involved with a number of student organizations including; Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE), Black Retail Action Group (BRAG), and TREND. These groups have helped me develop leadership, communication and networking skills which will benefit me in my retail career.
