This summer I had the amazing opportunity to intern with JCPenney in Plano, TX as a merchandise intern. I learned so much about the dynamics of being able to work in a team setting and how important it is to understand that everyone plays a key role in reaching the team’s ultimate goal. I am pleased to say that after graduation I will return to Texas and take on a full time position with JCPenney as a Merchandise Trainee.
I am from Phoenix, Arizona and I am a senior graduating in December of 2011. This is my fifth semester on the board and I am honored to be serving as the liaison for the Corporate Advisory partner JCPenney and Wellsfargo.
A year ago, I co-chartered the Black Retail Action Group (BRAG) where I currently serve as chapter President. BRAG is dedicated to increasing minority involvement at all levels of retail and related industries. I am really excited about the direction BRAG is taking here at The University of Arizona and I look forward to seeing BRAG grow.
The retailing and consumer sciences major, and my membership on the Student Ambassador Board have provided unique leadership and professional development opportunities for me. As I work towards graduation in December, I plan to take these skills and apply them to my professional endeavors. I look forward to an eventful and exciting semester. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
